A few months ago I got a Syrian visa (in my New Zealand passport) on the Turkey border no problems. We heard of others who ought to have got theirs at home (eg Americans) getting them on the border. I suggest taking a bus as the driver will probably help you get the visa.

Hi Paul, thanks for reponse. Can you advise which border you went for the crossing? Is it at Antakya? How much did you pay for the visa and where did you get on the bus? Syrian bus to Aleppo? Thanks for advise.

the line at the border is if THERE IS NO embassy in your home country then you are entitled to a visa on arrival VOA as it's called everywhere so as there is no Syrian embassy in SIN then you should have no problem at the border the hassle is mainly for us the Americans and Brits no worries I as american got voa after waiting a few hours it is no problem

Hi Je55689, Thanks for advise. We do not have a Syrian embassy in Singapore so should be easy for us. We will try our luck... thanks

Hi there, Anyone going to Syria from Turkey w/o a visa must go via Antakya... We tried and got our visa on arrival for USD33/visa for Singapore Passports. We took the "Jet" bus from Antakya bus station and the bus conductor helped us to speak with the officer in charge at the Syrian customs border and after getting the price of the visa we went over to the bank counter to pay the fee in USD ...

Sorry forgot to mention that if anyone wants to try to cross the border in Sanliurfa (Urfa) w/o a Syrian visa can forget about it.. The turkey officer told us the Syrian side is a 2nd class border (whatever it means) and they cant issue any visa after checking at the Syrian side on our behalf.
