Thread: Swine flu....does the baby get immunity from vaccine?
Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by Celesse
I have just got my invite for swine flu vaccine.
If the baby will gain immunity then I think I would be willing to have the vaccine as I would not want a newborn to get swine flu. If the baby will not gain immunity, but will be placed at risk (however small) from me having the vaccine then I will be a lot less willing to have the vaccine.
Will my baby gain immunity form the vaccine?
i had a long talk with my doc about this when he offered me the vaccine and he said that the baby will be born with immunity for the first 3 months or so....then baby will start developing its own antibodies after that...
i assumed he knows what he's talking about! lol

OH is gonna have a read around stuff today and then we can talk about it tonight properly, but I think its very likely I will get the vaccine so my baby is covered when she is born.
