Thread: Swapped out my slave cyl no pedal pressure

Started 1 month, 4 weeks ago by GreyTeg
Ok so I swapped out my slave cyl today and I have no pedal pressure (thats because I havnt bleed it) but my question is, does it matter if you compress it with the brake line on it or should it be compressed without it or does it even matter?

What does a brake line have to do with your slave cylinder?

Spody02 replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
u mean the hard line for the clutch?

hotdoghogie replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
it doesnt matter... and your clutch pedal will not do anything until you bleed the system. Its pretty simple to screw up.

Thats what I thought, thanks... I hope this fixs my leak other wise I dont know where else I can look, Im losing a lot of fluid and Im hoping I dont have to replace more.

Spody02 replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
theres not alot could be leaking... master cylinder slave cylinder hard line soft lines

GreyTeg replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
Im going to try and bleed it tomorrow and wait to see, its a pretty big leak I lose brake fluid everytime so the next thing Im looking at replacing is the master cyl. and if that doesnt do it then I guess Im going to have to start replacing my lines

losing brake fuild as in brake fuild fom the clutch right? not brake fuild from the brakes? lol

GreyTeg replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
Haha yea, Ive already replaced the master cyl for my brakes I just need to located whats causing me lose so much fluid from my clutch

Spray the Master Cylinder, slave cylinder, and all lines down with Brake Clean and wipe it clean. Then drive the car some to see where the leak is.

Alright so I bleed it today and it shifts better but it looks like the leak isnt gone, I dont know if its from the spill during the bleed or the source is something else. I think its from the lines, so Im going to clean it and hopefully find it.
