When I had an 84 golf I bought this all inclusive bushing kit that had everything in it to replace all rubber contact points related to suspension. does anyone know if something like this exists for an 83 camper?
any help is plenty!

I heard someone made an upgraded kit using synthetic bushing material but have yet to fid it.

The US distributor is at the SEMA show. They don't list the bushings on their website, but according to the UK they should be able to be ordered.
