Thread: Survey on Trust in Blood Glucose Monitor

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Dee Miller
Greetings! I am conducting research to learn about how people with diabetes, and their doctor and health care team, view the glucose meters that are given to them from their doctors. It is important to understand the variables that lead to patient’s trust or distrust of health care providers and blood glucose meters. Trust leads to patients’ compliance of physician orders, adherence to the use of...

I am very unhappy with the modern 5 second meters. their accuracy is appalling. The readings I do not trust and test less. The 60 second meters were wonderful and very accurate did a lot more testing then.

This survey seems highly repetitive to me. I found this frustrating -- so I submitted an incomplete survey. Some questions are asked repeated. Do you think that my occupation will change in the 30 minutes that I take the survey? I guess you will get a very high non-response rate and a biased sample because of these factors.

Thanks Anthony! Your feedback is very valuable.

Thanks Kristin! I apologize that survey was frustrating. There is a reason that some of the questions appear to be repetitive however none of the questions are suppose to be repeated. The occupation question being repeated was a mistake and that has been corrected. I really hope I get a very high response rate because I truly want to help make diabetes management better.

You might get a better response from people on here, Dee, without using patronizing phrases such as "patient's compliance of physicians orders". Most of us on here don't think in terms of "complying" with anyone's orders ! We think more in terms of working in partnership with our health care professionals who if anything are there to serve us as consumers of their services. Most of us work ...

I started taking the survey and like Kristin, never finished because I too found it very repetitive and some of the questions were actually comical. Is my blood glucose meter "honest". Nope, it cheats on me with the meter next door! "Do I have warm fuzzy feelings about my meter?" Ok, now I'm exagerating but not by much!
