Thread: Surprising Parents - Pregnancy: 1st Trimester at WebMD

So my parents are flying in from Cali Thanksgiving week and my husband and i thought it would be a good time to tell our parents considering i only see mine twice a year. I was just wondering if anyone had any creative ideas on how to go about it??? Today is my first appt!!! I'm pretty excited. Not sure what to expect. Hoping to see AND hear a HB. I'm 7wks4ds today! wish me luck!!!

Replying to: Surprising Parents We are going to tell our parents at Thanksgiving too! We already have a LO though so we are going to tell by "using" her! HAHA! We are going to have her wear a Big Sister shirt. I am also making my mom and MIL calendars for Christmas w/ DD picutres in it and was thinking of giving them that gift at Thanksgiving and for the month of June, put an U/S pic in there and circle the due date in red. Replying to: Surprising Parents I've heard of people putting a bun in the oven and having the person look in there. Then they usually ask why is there a bun in the oven? And it dawns on them.... I dunno...I'm not creative!

Replying to: Surprising Parents Also prego with #1 and I had planned on telling them by taking them out to dinner close to some holiday and giving them each a gift, I was going to do shirts that said "1st time grandma/grandpa" for my husband's parents cuz it will be their first grandchild. Was also gonna put in the first U/S pic. The more I thought about it, it started to sound corny but now I wish I'd done it that way.

Replying to: Surprising Parents My mom has a charm bracelet, so i gave her a charm that said BABY in baby blocks. I also got this necklace from JCPENNY , it is a circle that has two babyfeet cut out, it says new addition or new arrival and on the card the necklace is attached too it says "our family is going to grow by two feet" .... The necklace is for my mother in law, but we haven't told her yet.
