Thread: Supervised Nap on Tummy w/movement monitor - re..

Hello. I am a first time mom looking for some advice and hoping to keep this board positive as I know this topic may cause some debate.
My daughter is 9 weeks old. She has struggled with tummy time (we've used a boppy, my chest/tummy, been strategic with the timing, etc.). We've tried every suggestion I've been able to find on multiple boards.
Right now, she is up to 2 minutes of tummy ...
My pediatrician said it is fine for babies to sleep on their tummies as long as they are being supervised. It's just not ok for night-time sleep when you are not right there watching them or if they are taking a nap where you are not supervising. Basically, as long as you are there watching it is ok.
dd sleeps on her stomach when she rolls off of her side and into that position - she's comfortable - so I let her snooze that way. Each person has their own limits to what feels safe to them. You need to decide for yourself. No matter what other people tell you - one way or another - it is ultimately your decision... your child, your responsibility, your comfort zone, etc.
My LO is napping on her tummy right now. I just keep checking her. IMO they just sleep better that way. At night, I swaddle her and put her on her side, though.
When they start rolling over, it's game on! They usually end up on their tummies anyway - so I'll let her sleep that way. That's what I did with my oldest.
My son sleeps on his belly all the time and we have the angel care monitor. If you are going to be so diligent about keeping an eye on her I see no problem with this. However, my son still hates tummy time when he is awake, but it is the only way he will sleep. Hope you get her adapted to tummy time this way!
I did that with ODD. She hated tummy time and would scream immediately! One day I was trying to give her the pacifier and she fell asleep after fussing for a while. When she started having a more routine afternoon nap, I would have her sleep on her tummy on the mini boppy tummy time mat. I always placed the mat on the couch right next to me so I could watch her. As soon as she started ...
Are you kidding me!!! All of these people flipping out about SIDS really pisses me off! First of all do your research in vaccinations and then you tell me what causes SIDS. Second of all My grandparents slept on their bellies, my parents did, me and all my siblings did, my nieces and nephews do and so does my daughter who by the way is a healthy 8 weeker. If she can move her head she is fine the ...
My daughter sleeps on her tummy all the time. She can roll over both ways and I told doc about it. I told her I would put her to bed on her back and find her on her tummy. He said if she is turning on to her tummy there is nothing I can do about it she will be fine. So I wouldnt worry about it, esp if you have the monitor
