Thread: SuperDrive replacement or upgrade?! Help!

Hi, A few days ago, my internal Matshita DVD-R UJ-875 died while ripping some audio CDs in XLD! It doesn't read any CDs or DVDs anymore. It starts to spin the disc and ejects it after a couple of seconds! Since I believe that there is no fix for the problem, and my warranty has already expired, I'm looking to replace the drive myself. I do have the necessary technical know-how...

at first I should suggest you visit an Apple retailer. I tried to fix things on my own too, but i managed to make it even worse.. Apple won't be able to help you further when you try yourself. Anyway if you have the know-how, (which i didn't ) i suggest you check on websites that sell second hand Apples. I'll try if i can manage to find something for ya.
