Thread: Suggestions on superchargers for a 07 GT 4.6L, 3V

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by scooter101
All, I've had so much good luck on this forum and I greatly appreciate the sage advice I've seen. In this question, I am seeking further enlightenment. I really enjoy my 07 GT, but want to take it up several notches with a supercharger. Now I suspect there are many if this...then thats..but my overall theory is that I do NOT want to make any internal engine changes beyond bolting on the SC...

Look up edelbrock e-force superchargers for 05-09 GT's. If you don't want to change internals this will give you the best bang for your buck in my opinion. There is a link. google it some more to get more reviews though. Edelbrock.com - E-Force Superchargers - Fuel Injected - Kits

Whipple FTW, but I've seen some cars pushing 450rwhp on stock internals and it runs fine for awhile. I've seen cars with stock internals with 400rwhp and the motor pops after a few weeks. Tune is key but the internals can only take so much.

For the price Id go with a KB kit with a Boost-a-Pumnp. 600 RWHP Stage Two on a stock engine 6,000 bucks, and its Billet Aluminum, Not cast. that or the new Whipple, Both are good. http://www.kennebell.net/

But Yeah...really you're going to want to switch the internals out for some stronger versions...the transmission is another weak link... whenever you add HP like that you're really Re-engineering the car just keep that in mind...if reliability is a Prime factor that is.

With your 410 gears you might want a centrifugal blower like a Paxton or Vortech since they make full boost at higher RPMS. I dont think the BBK will work with any blower but I may be wrong. I could see it working with the Saleen if you used a flexible intake hose. But it would need a custom tune as the canned tune that comes with the blower will not work.Next like the other guy said there is no...

I would most definitely use the can tune to make it to a dyno and get your car dyno tuned. Make sure the keep the hp down around 440-450 since you don't want to change internals. I'm going to do the same thing with the e-force supercharger from edelbrock.

[quote=Stangmansteve;1753092]word.............[/qu ote Word...... If something screws up I will try to get Edelbrock or Ford to fix it. Edelbrock gives you a guarantee that you can run the product with stock internals for a daily driver without any problem. Only 4lbs of boost but that'll be enough for me.

All of the supercharger kits that we sell are complete turn key packages. We sell all of our packages to customers all over the country and install them everyday. These customers drive from 1000+ miles and drive home that same day. 99% of our customers have stock bottom ends as well. Our non intercooled V3 kit is a nice kit for the money and will produce around 400rwhp. We also stock the ...

yeah it really just depends on what kind of power adder you want..with a centrifugal blower you can have more efficiency...the only downside to it really is the fact that in most cases you need to downshift to maintain boost levels...but typically is a safer way to create power...Positive displacement (roots/twin Screw) creates earth thumping power almost at idle...the problem with that is your there components wear out far faster then they...

I personally like the E-force blower and like all of the engineering behind it. It makes sense why it make such high amount of power on low boost.

go with a centrifical procharger kit and u will be very happy with it i promise. u get everything u need in the kit to bolt on and the power gains are insane, even on a completely stock car!
