Thread: Suggestion: Favorite Oscar nominated performance by Denzel Washington?

Hey spudman, I read that he didn't understand it either but said he'd take it anyway (the oscar)!! If you want to rule the world, does it follow that everyone else welcomes enslavement?

My favorite, Training Day. It seems that for all the flak he gets for this movie, I have yet to hear someone give a compelling argument as to why he deserved NOT to win for his performance in it besides, "He deserved it more for another movie, or "I didn't like Training Day." I thought he was brilliant in it and the oscar was well deserved. I really need to think of a signature...

Alonzo Harris in Training Day......IMO his best performance to date.

Denzel Washington wasn't nominated for American Gangster . Ruby Dee (who played his mother) was. "All sugg and no pick makes bump a dull boy!"

Because Tom Wilkinson gave a better performance in In The Bedroom. Denzel was fine, but there were better performances out there... Sadly, he wasn't nominated for American Gangster, otherwise I'd have voted for that. As such, I'm going to go for The Hurricane... Have a nice day
