Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by 78stepsideUAK10
I am planning on 4 linking my suburban since my rear leaf set up sucks. I was originally planning on getting the brackets from shaffers but I would of had to remove a crossmember and some other stuff for it to fit. So now I am going to build my own. This brings up some questions I have 1. What coils should I run? I was thinking Early bronco 5" lift coils, I'm not sure that they ...

Here is what I did, similar to what you have in mind. Its a double triangualted 4 link with coils from a 68 ElCamino. My numbers are similar also, with slightly less A/S. Lowers are about 39 in long and my uppers turned out to be 36 in. The coils were lying around so I figured I'd try them, turns out they work pretty well. Not to soft and flex like mad.

I think I'm going to get some 5x16" race springs from Afco. Now the question is what rate? 150#'s? I'm used to seeing 700-1000# springs that see 3" of travel at most.

I would go with 250-300 depending on what the rear half is gonna weigh.

After even more research I think the early bronco coils are still probably my best bet They are right in the range you said and long enough.
