Thread: Strong Srt 5405e "stb Cannot Detect Usb Stick"

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by ChasCB
Purchased a Strong SRT 5405E. Noticed there was a firmware update to the one installed (1.4A - 1.0/2009.04.23) Downloaded the following file - SRT5405E_Software_Softwares_Australasia.zip Unziped it to a reformatted USB stick (FAT32) for the CSM1100DVB-T_SRT5405E_1.0_20090720-1.upd file. Inserted USB stick into back of unit and selected via the remote USB. The following message came up:...

What about powering the box up with the USB already plugged in? What about FAT16 (the 128meg one is probably already FAT16 anyway)?

Yes I have tried a powering up with the stick/s plugged in. I have also tried different FAT formats including NTFS as a last resort, all without success.

I upgraded the firmware on one of those, with that file (had other unrelated files as well) in the root folder of a 4GB cheapie USB stick. Sorry, don't remember doing anything special. Didn't fix the small annoyances of the owner anyway (yet another firmware that doesn't show both short and extended description).
