Started 3 months, 4 weeks ago by Poo boy
Upon install I was having trouble with getting the c clips in and I may have stretched 2 of them out a bit from their original shape. I did get them to snap into the groove but I am having second thoughts. The motor is back together but I am thinking I am always going to be second guessing myself. Should I be concerned with these enough to pull the motor apart again? Or should I leave ...

They are SPI's that are in there. I had a real hard time getting them in and I had to pull them out once because I had the opening pointing straight up. I think pulling them out is where I stertched them out.

Fix it, I had one come off last year and destroy a topend. Cylinder was not salvagable.

Usually when I install them, I try to spin them in the groove to make sure they are totally seated. Never had a problem with them coming out.

Get the C-Clipper best and safest way to install c-clips! Makes it less than a 10 second job, 20mm is what you will need for Polaris.

I would take them out as well. I had a C-clip fail from improper installation and take out the piston and cylinder.

My service manual said to have the gap down. It's an older manual (2003). Is that still correct on newer motors? Looks like I will be pulling the motor apart. New base gaskets again.......
