Thread: Strategies for Opioid Withdrawal

Started 5 months ago by ctcebert83
Hello all, this is my first post on Bluelight and I just wanted to share some of my knowledge used for managing the always hellish opioid withdrawal. I got into opioids starting with Vicodin, getting up to only 12 10/325 pill a day habit before being introduced to IV hydromorphone. Very strong, very addictive, and after that I really dived in. Anyway, after things started to really ...

sounds like this thread is mistitled, should be "strategies to avoid opiate wi thdrawal" tramadol and hydrocodone , popppy pod tea.... just replacing one drug with another... its like saying im gonna quit takking pills today and instead of taking your daily oxy you take a shit ton of other weaker opiates..... its just delaying withdrawal

I kind of have to agree with The Hebrew Hammer. I am currently in day 2 of withdrawel from 60-90mgs of Opana ER insufflated. It hurts so freakin bad! My whole body hurts and it's a major strain just to pull myself up into an upright position in bed. The worst symptom for me by far is the RLS type of stuff, except I get it in my whole body and it lasts all day and all night. I'm ...

I have 2 mscontins left which will probably be saved for thursday and friday. What i use is this. OTC codeine CWE which will hold you if your sick. Um do people really go to the ER for bad withdrawals? I mean... I've thought of it before but an ER visit has to be more expensive than going to get some dope or whatever... I guess if you have really good insurance it might work but I still wouldn't do that. Withdrawals are hell but its not an emergency... the ER is for emergencies. I'd feel like a total asshole for making ...

I suggest to go to out-patients clinic for addicts when you know withdrawal is just about to start and you've got a few small doses left. At least this is how it works out here. The ER won't even help as a matter of fact and tell you to go to the closest psychiatric hospital. Anyway, getting a referral at the clinic and going there oneself on a date you agreed on with a doctor is ...

detox is diffrent in diffrent parts of the world here its fairly pleasant - they take u in for an interview to find out all about wat ur using currently etc, then the doctor checks u over, takes blood/urine samples and as soon as u go into wd u r put on suboxone for opiate wd u will usually b in there for 10-14 days, depending on severity of addiction/wat ur using once u r ...

Hey guys, just going to respond to some of the comments here. Yes I am aware that using any opiate after you go into withdrawal obviously isn't total detox. But for all of you out there that have experienced the true hell of opiate withdrawal you can understand why many will use them. I'm not talking about getting onto maintenance with these drugs, I just mean to take them in small ...

Soma (carisoprodol) is great for the muscle aches, and it also helps you sleep if you can't. I also highly recommend staying submerged in a hot bathtub or a spa/jacuzzi as much as possible. I've heard a lot of people say the same thing, too. It really does do wonders.

in theory you can even painlessly quit benzos if you reduce your dose by no more than 10% every week... so in theory this will work, but in practice most of us addicts cant keep the discipline to take the same dose every day for a week if its less than what it takes to get us high, let alone continue lowering the dose each weak untill its down to nothing (well close to it rather....)
