can you confirm that there are no problems with the bottom end? how much oil was it using when fitted in your car and why did you change it if it was ok?

The engine is out of the car and laying on the floor at the garage, so it can be easily inspected (assuming you can easily get to Kent!) How much oil was it using when fitted in your car? Not a lot. On all my cars, I always check...
