I quit sterlizing for our DD at about 12 months but last night when I was washing the bottles I automatically poured a kettle full of boiling water all over them and through them!

I quit sterilizing bottles after dd was three months old.  I would run them through the dishwasher every now and then.  She's on sippy cups now, and I just stick those in the dishwasher.

STERILIZING...spelt it wrong twice!!!

Haven't sterilized since 1 month old.  I read in a few places that a dishwasher on the hottest water setting is good enough.  But I do sterilize anything that is being used for the first time.

Hmm....I had a sterilizer that I kept using till DD was 7 or 8 months I think.  Now I only wash bottles very well with soap and hot water, and at the end I just leave very hot water to run on them inside and out for a couple of minutes and I'm done.  Is that sterilizing?? :-)

I sterlize tmy puming stuff for the exact same reason, but the bottles just go on in with the 'baby' items. Thanks for reminding me of that Anissa!

I still sterilize anything that I use to pump and store breast milk including the bottles.  DD doesn't drink out of the storage bottles but I have to boil my pump parts anyway so I just toss the bottles in also.  I also still sterlize her pacifiers every few days.  She has never had thrush but she has had a few instances of yeast on her butt and the breast I pump is very susceptible to internal ...
