Without my freq. meter in reach, what is the slang term for that frequency range? Low side, double low, triple low? Or high, double high and so forth. I run a Galaxy 66. I am being serious in my questioning.

I use the low side and high side alot. Much less noise and it doesn't bleed on the "am" side. Rarely do I use the other ones simply because my swr's go out the roof, I'm assuming it is the Francis antenna I use. Thanks for the heads up on the 28k-29k range I will look and see if those are my favorite "secret" channels.

Thanks guys, I have to say that all my years of Cb'n I have never had a ham operator break the channel and request me vacate the channel for violating the air waves. If it happens I would gladly. I will log my most used channels and post them on here and you guys can let me know if I am in danger of FCC trouble.

From a truckers perspective we need to stay out of the 28,000 range. For the non-hammers like myself, as long a s we don't flip our and selector more than once we should be fine. That keeps us out of the foridden 28k range and keeps us from " eating up or bleeding over " on the am 40 side. Nothing worse than being stuck between two guys chatting on an am channel and not being able to hear or transmit due to bleed over....

Some of them don't know where they are transmitting. All they know is "extree channels"! I've heard them on 28.085 AM calling "Breaker One Nine fer a reddio check!" They haven't a CLUE as to where they are talking, nor do they really care!!! All they know is, they (think) have these "quiet" channels to operate on and can just yak away!!!! On the CB boards, there's these...

It's not just being illegal. But the cost of the fines. You can get fines costing more than $10,000. It's truly not worth it. With the ease and price of a Ham License. It just makes good sense to get one. Just think you get a Ham 10 year ticket for about $15.
