Hi, I just applied for an Online State Pension Forecast. At the bottom of the forecast it says "Our records show that you are paying into another pension scheme instead of the State Second Pension" The last time I was paying into a PP scheme where I was contracted out was 1996. if you didnt complete a CA1543 in 1996, your PP would remain open. No rebates would be paid for your periods self employed, or unemployed, but rebates would start to be paid again when you recommence full NI paid work.

In both cases, no contracted out rebates are paid. Whilst you do get some credit by being signed on, you dont get any whilst you are self employed....
