Thread: Stained Chrome

Started 4 months ago by Paychek
I recently bought a 07 escalade and the chrome on the wheels, trim, and on the grill are stained. Water spots and rust stains. What product takes these stain off. I tried the turtle wax chrome polisher and it made the chrome shine but did not do anything for the stains.

Be careful, do not rub too hard on the chrome on the plastic parts or you can remove it like on the grill. As said try Mother's it's much better.

Are you sure they are not rust stains comming up thru from the base. In my neck of the woods, they use magnesium chromate on the roads in the winter. This stuff is nasty on chromed aluminum wheels and trim. The chrome trim on my wifes Aviator is stained / rusted due to the mag chromate... Her wheels are shot, but we have yet to agree on a replacement wheel or just replacing her car.
