Need some help!!! I live in Ireland and i'm going to buy my first full suspension bike. I'm thinking buying a Specialized FSR XC just don't know which one. I can't get the expert one so it's between the Comp or [b]Pro [/B????
The pro model is 500€ more than the comp, is it worth it????? Please help:???
find a good LBS you like and trust and have them fit you to a bike properly..the MOST important part of bike purchase.
Ignore what you "hear" on the Internet about failing parts. If in fact they did, they would be under warranty anyhow.
Stick to brand names like the bikes you have named.
Because you mention nothing of how and where you plan to ride, it's nearly impossible to go ...
I should mention that i'm also prepared to build a bike if it means geting
better parts for my money. If you think this is a better option please
suggest some parts I should look into. Cheers.
Hey guys.
I'm in the market for a new bike and I was wondering what you all recommend. I will be using the bike to ride to work and for fun and venture onto some tracks and stuff on the weekend. I have been told to go for a hardtail XC bike. My budget is $2000 AUD MAX!!! The bikes I have looked at are the Giant XTC-2, Apollo TAOS C and Cannondale F4. So, having said that what other bikes ...
I Checked out the Giant Xtc 2's components. RS forks and shimano SLX components are all very good. Ive seen this bike at Wheelworld for under $1000. If you want ot spend the full $2000 check out the GT Zazkar full carbon frame for $2000 at Performance bike.
If you have a Felt dealer in your area, check out the The Felt line of bikes. I have tested the 720 hard tail and it was really ...

I'm going for my first MTB and have looked at some different bikes.
Now I have narrowed my choise down to a couple of bikes,
but i would like your oppinion about which one you think is the best, and why.
Bike 1: Trek 6300
Frame - Alpha Black Aluminum w/semi-integrated head tube, twin taper down tube w/integrated gusset, formed top tube, wishbone seatstay, forged ...
1st..the frame, all are fine, and then...
2nd...the fork. Only the Giant has one that will work well.
And 3rd but most important, the bike has to fit, and fit darn well.
Jim
Two entirely different bikes , they both are good choises IMHO . You dont give up much on an Anthem so it just comes down to prefrence . Squishy bikes can be nice for old bones though ..
Only mine is that cool looking. The paint job was done by me. The Saddle is a Velo Plush. And the build was not as much as you think. I built it very slowly, was a SS at one point. I am on my third set of cranks, second fork, second saddle, started with V-brakes. I dont know the prices of the top of my head, but a lot of it was closeout, on sale, and even used.
Damn man that's a sweet bike. I didn't know your Rekken was as cool looking. What kind of saddle is that? tires? Did the build cost you an arm and a leg?
well, i'm gonna say ditch the 15mm T/A, the 20mm T/A is better and the weight savings is pretty small, and there is a much bigger pool of components for 20mm T/A

I'm posting 2 shots of bike frames to illustrate how close companies are these days to similar designs: Turner (DW link) and Giant (Maestro). They will ride a bit differently, however, the design regardless is 4 bar....very mfr is pharting around with where to place the pivots 'best', and then taking out a patent on that design. the giant has a pivot behind the BB, whereas the Turner has it above the BB. All that does is affect...
