Thread: Soya Mince & Soya Chunks

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by GESwan
In a bid to find high protein foods I have stumbled across Soya Mince. I have read the nutritional information and it says that there is 50grams of Protein per 100grams of mince! This sounds unbelievable and would certainly provide plenty of protein for my diet. Does anyone else use Soya mince as a source of Protein? Is it a viable option? cheers

Yes i use the mince. The chunks are a little weird to say the least. Mince can be used as a minced beef/turkey replacer in all most recipes. So cottage pie, spag bol, chili, burritos etc all work well. Its also called TVP

The mince is ok for cooking but definitely add in lots with it because it has little flavour on its own. The chunks aren't bad either but need a lot of soaking before cooking so that they're soft enough.
