I've got a local buddy with a '96 Impala SS and he keeps me informed of the local events going on with his crowd. For the past two years he's told me about this event (SSHS9) and I've gone up to the track just to get some runs in and help support his event.
This year I hadn't planned on going since I'm poor right now and since I would rather spend any extra dollars on ...

Glad you got some track time, you need to give some more info on your slips, what was your 60', trap speed, etc.. I'm looking forward to seeing your truck beat the "beast" lol.

To be honest, I'm slowly working on it. I have learned to feather my launches MUCH better than I used to. Once I post up my slips (which I forgot at home) you'll be able to tell with 2.3 & 2.4 60' times...
...but there's more to ...
Sounds like a good weekend of fun, learning, and progress
BTW, 3200 is lighter than my truck was (before this last round of weightloss/rewire/rebuild).

Definitely. More like a "day" of it all, but that's okay. I would have loved to stay and done more tuning & running, but I had to work that night and couldn't get anyone to pick up my shift.

I saw this pic and I'm thinking you mounted slicks on your street rims? Then I read some more.
So what do you have the "bar" set to? Low 13's/Hi 12's? What's the goal?
Post ALL the #'s. I wanna see where you're MPH is at.

I want to break into the 12's with my current setup. I think its doable. Maybe with another bolt-on mod or two at most.
I'll shoot for 11's after my next head/cam upgrade (waaaay far off at this ...
I know before this motor build you were hitting the same times as my truck was, but you had a higher trap speed. The slicks will lower the speed but also decrease your time.
I was cutting 1.8 60 fts in 85 degree weather. I would have loved to get a timeslip in the cool.
I think the truck is good for low 13's, but you're definitely going to have to dig in to get into the 12's. Or ...

Trick is to get staged before the other person so you're ready and waiting for the lights. __________________ *Jeff* 88 Jimmy #2 , 2wd, 2.8L V6, lowered, stock for now 96 S-10 Blazer , 4dr 4wd, bored .020", !MAF, !TB, TLC in progress... 98 S-10 ext cab , ZQ8ed, L35, 5 spd, !MAF, !TB LOVING IT!! One of the quickest ways to make enemies is to fully stage before the other person has pre-staged. -Nate __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by scott750 I always enjoy myself. no wonder the 60's sucked. wire up the shift light in the LT1 ecm set it to what rpm you want to launch at and use it as a visual reference out of the corner of your eye while watching the tree. a 2 step would work beter but cost more $$$
