This is a slightly embarrassing question (and I should say it is not about me, as I am female, lol) but my OH had surgery on his stomach yesterday under a general anasthetic. He is ok, apart from feeling tired and bruised, but he noticed a dull ache in one of his testicles afterwards, and now it has become swollen. Have any men experienced this, or is it known to be a common after effect of a general anasthetic? Thanks in advance, redlorry.

I'd turn off the computer before you drive him back to the hospital. No sense in wasting power like.

an acute swollen testicle, especially painful, should ALWAYS be seen to, to exclude the possibility of torsion (worse case scenario). It could also be infection/inflammation, in which case he needs antibiotic therapy. it's unlikely to be related to general anaesthetic. Could possibly be related to the surgery depending on what procedure it was that he had. But could be coincidental. In any case i would suggest that he should go to...

I'm probably wrong but perhaps they damaged a nerve somewhere, leading to the nether regions? Don't know.. I hope NHS Direct give some...
