I really like Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB67HO8tkQs&feature =fvw Though not really a cover, but I like Colin Hay's acoustic version of Overkill. Clapton's Layla from Unplugged (though the ending of the original is incredible)

My homer pick is Zac Brown Band - Jolene. It really is good though. I also love Toad the Wet Sprockets version of KISS I wanna Rock and Roll all night.

Aerosmith did do it first. Chestnut covered it after it was released. He didn't want to cover it until he found out that Aerosmith did it because he thought it was a wuss song but he said Aerosmith ain't no wusses so he then covered...
