I don't think this one's been mentioned:
Lennon's "Out the Blue" sounds an awful lot like "Sexy Sadie". Methinks
there was a little (a lot?) of self-plagiarism at work there!

JEFF!
dunno about that but "Hey Jude" and 'Isn't It A Pity" are twins separated
at birth.
The main section of Paul McCartney's "Band on the Run" sounds a bit like
CCR's "Who'll Stop the Rain". The tempo is the same, the acoustic guitar
strumming is very similar, and they both even have a very similar middle
instrumental break section.

you are dead on with this one my friend! I have always wondered why no
lawsuits came from MJ's camp about ...
Two rather obscure songs -- the verse part of "We Love the Clown" by Jimi
Hendrix-produced Eire Apparent (1st/only album) and the melody of
"Lady Godiva's Operation" by Velvet Underground (White Light/White Heat).
Either somebody copied somebody or they both use the same old folk tune. I
think the Eire Apparent record came out in 1967 & the VU record in 1968.
Ross
Joe Jackson's Breaking Us In Two. the beginning vocals sound alot like
Badfinger's Day After Day guitar intro.
The Moody Blues The Other Side Of Life borrowed from The Zoo by the
Scorpions.

Both are vaguely disco songs from rock acts, but I don't think they sound enough alike for legal action!
There are partial similarities with Joe Nichols' latest single "Believers" and Amy Grant's 1977 CCM classic "Old Man's Rubble." Especially in the intros and some of the melodies.

Graham Central Station's "We've Been Waiting" is such a rip-off of Frederick Night's "I've Been Lonely For So Long" (later covered by Mick Jagger on Wandering Spirit ) that I'm surprised there's been no litigation.
