Thread: Songs for times like these

Started 1 month ago by moestooge
What would be appropriate music for late 2009 as we face the possibility of a second great depression and a totalitarian government? Christians might want to sing the hymn The Fight Is On . If oldies are your choice, Bad Moon Rising captures the present mood like no other song. Go ahead an add your favorites.

From the '60s "radical" era there's this amazing NEW take on the lyrics of this left-wing political song. So this is my nomination for the ...

"Turn Out The Lights the party's over" For one side or the other this will be true. Either we take back our nation or we go into the dustbin of history.

COREY HART - Everything In My Heart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lPVnfklI1Q I never see the light Still I follow you Couldn't imagine how Or what I'm supposed to do Ah maybe I've been crazy Only thinking of you I'll do it again Through the longest nights And I know them so well I keep forgetting my place And I stumbled 'til I fell So easy it's so easy To never see the truth Do you remember I said to give you...

Here's a song originally written by Woody Guthrie and covered by Alison Kraus and Union Station. Pastures of Plenty Well, it's always we ramble, this river and I All along your green valleys, I work till I die My land I'll defend with my life need it be 'Cause my pastures of plenty must always be free Green pastures of plenty from dry desert ground From the Grand Coulee Dam where the waters run down Every state in this...
