I'll probably forget chunks, he's been telling me about this guy for about a year. Generally seems to be an unstable...

On the one hand, he has a right to be an idiot, as long as no one else gets hurt, but now you know a little of the concern that non-gun folk feel about the rest of us.
Your worry is that he'll act irresponsibly with his weapons. Their concern is that we'll act the same way. Difference? You have a background with weapons and recognize that this guy is a hazard, to himself ...

You want liberty, here it is. Keep your guns loaded and always be prepared. Pray the day never comes but train for it like it's coming tommorow. Make sure the wife and kids know what to do incase you're not home too.
Just a thought. There's a fine line between being a dumbass and making bad judgements and being mentally insufficient to make good judgements. One avenue would be to "302" the guy. This would, however, require outside help and evaluation by professional head shrinkers. Sounds like it may meet the requirements without stretching the truth. I remember Ron Paul has said quite a few times that people agree with his libertarian stand point; you can do what you want as long as you don't infringe on other peoples liberties, but they all have one exception. I, personally, enjoy the government mandated smoking ban in...
