Thread: Solex carb question for 1600cc

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Jim Clark
Hi I have just bought a second hand 1600cc engine for my 68 Square. It has Solex 32 PDSIT carbs on. The previous owner said he thought it had been over fueling. So I was going to buy a repair kit, then I noticed on a website these carbs were for a 1972 1700cc engine, is that correct and not being up to speed on carbs can I down jet etc to suit a 1600cc. Cheers Jim

Check the throttle shafts, they may be loose and leaking. I am running 32 PDSIT's on my 1600, but I have sent the OG 32/34 PDSIT's out to have the throttle shafts machined. They were leaking like a sieve and I could not get them to balance, as well as the 1/2 side was flooding the plugs.
