Thread: Sole Female Wanderer

Hi. I'm heading off to Marsalforn third week of September. I'm planning on doing a spot of walking around the island and maybe take in the odd snorkle session too. Any good advice for a lone wanderer? Anything I need to watch out for? And how about any 'must do' things while I'm there? Thank you...

Hi Pixie. Follow the usual obvious rules when walking in a hot country. Wear decent shoes, carry water and do not forget the sun cream Malta , and even more so Gozo, is a very safe country but my one piece of advice,which everyone might not agree with, is to be carefull if you come into contact with hunters. Most hunter/shooters are ok, very nice people but one ...

It will still be pretty hot at the end of September and usually humid too. Gozo is quite hilly so I'd advise that if you do go walking you go early in the morning before the sun is at its worst and as previously stated, take hat, suncream and plenty of water

Thanks for your speedy replies guys. I have a good stock of sun screen and a trusty pair of walking shoes:o) I have read a bit about the hunters and I was wondering how I can spot them in order to steer clear? (apart from the assumingly obvious gun shots!) Are there any 'typical' hunting areas to avoid? Also, any good (reasonable) dining spots you'd recommend?
