I got to thinking about this today after I bought a CD that had some songs that brought back a kick of nostalgia. Funny, when I was a kid I used to hate music. All kinds of music. I thought classical was boring, I thought soundtracks were pointless, and rock/rap/country/whatever garbage you heard on the radio was noise.
I remember when I was eight or nine years old the music teacher at my...
My mother plays the cello so I was introduced to classical music in the womb. xd
She only ever listened to classical and my dad to classical and jazz, so it was the only music I heard when I grew up. At the time I should have started listening to other genres I decided to be obnoxious and refuse to listen to anything that was popular among my classmates. That's why I'm handicapped when it...

My dad blasted Metallica and Judas Priest almost everyday when I was younger while my mom played a lot of 80's music. That is basically the main source of my music love, but my band teacher got me into the more classical type stuff and jazz stuff when she forced my to join jazz band. (It was the price I had to pay for her teaching me how to play bass, and now I love it.) Now I like stuff like ...
I don’t know. Through the Internet.
First it was dance, then metal, then I found Mozart’s requiem, followed by Yann tiersen, now I listen mostly to Early Music.
When I was in 7th grade, my perspectives to music changed when I first watched the movie: Fantasia 2000 and listened to Rhapsody in Blue.
I've gained lots of interests in Classical musics and Jazz musics since then.
My mom was and still is an organist for a Catholic church where I live, and I basically grew up listening to the organ and hearing the choir. Its also where I was first encouraged to sing. Who knew the Catholics were good for something? twisted
music has been in my life...all my life. I can't remember when I first fell in love with it but I always have. I love how some songs just transport me...it's like a have a mini siezure inside my head XD this goes for "classical" and metal and the bajillion things I listen to. omg there are some songs that make me so crazy that I feel like I can do anything! Like I can just get up during class and...

I like this topic question.
Growing up I hated most music I liked a few songs on the radio but I never bought a CD til I was fourteen.
During my summer break of my 8th grade year of school I had a new neighbor move into my neighborhood he was my age and he was a fan of Metal mainly Thrash and Metalcore. Him and I hung out a lot when I first heard his music I thought what kind of crap is ...

I grew up listening to rock and pop, from Michael Jackson, to Nirvana, to Aerosmith. I saw my friend playing guitar when I was 10 and immediately wanted to learn. I realized lessons werent for me, and I tried to teach myself. I fell out of music for 3 years, until I started playing Saxophone in Marching Band. 3 years later, I play Saxophone, Guitar, Bass, Drums and a little piano.
♠♠♠ Well, I grew up listening to country with my mother, gospel and popular s**t with my father. So I've never been into music much, until my step-dad started playing the classic rock radio station (which I hated at the time) and discovered the epic awesomness of Queen. I sat and listened to jazz with my grandfather one day, and I was just like "so THIS is music." Then I just started going back to classical,...
