Yes, you just need to keep checking on the website but I would not be too hopeful. If the ski lifts run, then the ski hire will also be open, there is at least one that I know of near the info centre by the lifts. I hope you realise that the trip will be costly if you hire a car but I expect it will be more convenient than by a bus and a tram.
