Thread: Sig P228 Magazines + Federal Hi-Shok

Started 2 months ago by FCPD
Swung by a local gun shop today that I have never visited and is not my main establishment. Noticed a distinct lack of Sig handguns in the display case, but plenty of Browning P-35s and other brands. This was not a "hole in the wall" place, but was smaller than the usual places I go. I decided that since I was there, I would buy some extra 9mm ammunition and a couple of Sig magazines for my ...

Gotta love the gunshop commandos... But I would recommend against buy your P228 mags from SIG directly and order from one of the great vendors in the classifieds... it'll save you more than a few bucks... And having just returned to P228 ownership, I must agree that it is a fine handgun, indeed...

He's right. Your P228's slide will break with any +P rounds at all, you know. Since standard pressure 9mm is obviously incapable of stopping anything over 25 lbs., I will generously offer to take that weak, useless handgun off of your hands. If you decide to keep it , just ask for 9mm P229 mags. They're one and the same with P228 mags.

Does he actually sell 9mm guns? It would be strange to sell a gun caliber without the ammo. But then again from your story, he certainly sounds strange.

If you are looking for 228 mags either Top Gun Supply at www.topgunsupply.com has them at very fair prices as well as forum member usaoz in the classifieds section. I've purchased from both of them and they are great folks to deal with, good prices too. oh yeah, and that guy has obviously never actually shot a 228 if he holds that opinion... Kevin
