anyone here with an eclosed box? similar to one of many products of AIRAID like this one below:

CarbonTC replied 1 year, 5 months ago
it traps all the air inside getting more power to the filter. I have plans for one in my V6 but first I'd like to see pics of any aftermarket intake or home made. Thanks.

LSKoncepts intake with custom chrome plenum cover. If you don't want to buy the LSkoncepts intake, you could make your own. I did that on my 3800sc project for my Beretta.

Here is what I had made a couple years back. First one is just your standard aluminum intake. This one is made of black PVC that ducted down to the lower grill... sucked water though. Here is a partial of the fiberglass one that sealed to the bottom of the hood. Here is a closer pic of the fiberglass version

dubbed ls I tried your set up BUT I found it killed the response time noticeably. So I went back to rollinls setup. My filter is longer by about 5 inches though. I just need to make a encloser for it. I already have a 4" plastic flex pipe from the lower grille up to where my filter is. This setup-up may be more suitable for the 2003-2006 models because the throttle body is in the front of the motor. LOVE THE SOUND THOUGH. You can...

I bought the aluminum pipe from ebay (intercooler piping) along with the silicone couplers. Used the stock MAF sensor housing and a cone filter with a MAF adapter to finish it up. It was fairly easy. I traded it for the stock air box before I moved to Japan. I plan on running a similiar...
