Long story but to make it short... Senor was never happy in the RV that we had and I had to take him to doggy day care each and ever morning for fear of him destroying the RV. Now that we have a home he is still not happy and has broke a few windows while we have been away at work. Anyhoo, Senor is a huge Saint Bernard weighing in at 212 lbs and to have him home alone is creating...
You'd have to know if he likes cats. I sure wouldn't want to put a little cat with a huge dog without knowing that. Maybe another dog would work out better. Hyacinth
no, I don't think a kitten is the answer. Have you spoken to your vet for some ideas? What about a dog behavioral specialist? Senor sounds lonely and scared to be alone. It will be trial and error but you can do things to help him adjust. Start with your vet. -- Every breath you take... Every move you make...
Senor is so weird, amazing for such a huge dog that sleeps 20 hours per day. He loves cats, we had one back in Michigan but we had to have him stay with neighbors because he couldn't deal with the road. I could get a dog but Senor is top dog and I would feel guilty and he wouldn't care for my affections going towards another dog. I thought a kitten might be a good idea... --...
Do you think he would do well with a kitten? If you get one, I would keep them seperated when youre not home, and introduce them to each other slowly a little at a time. PS I love St Benards! Our old friend had 2, and they were so sweet. Although they did make a slobbering mess in her car.lol.
How 'bout a dog sitter? For what it's worth, I don't think it's right to leave a dog home alone all day if that is in fact, the case. Or you could have someone come & walk Senor everyday. Dogs need exercise, especially the big ones. Suggest you read Cesar Milan's book. Exercise, discipline, love. -- "Buffalos are cool. They're like bad ass cows." Jake on Two & A Half ...

Not so much in a home as he did in our RV. He needs a friend that's not momma. -- A Capybara is the worlds largest rodent.
As long as he would not hurt the kitten, I think it might work. He sounds like is has separation anxiety. If Senor is breaking windows, hopefully he will not get out of one of them or get hurt. Good Luck. Your vet, might be able to give you something to calm him down, when you are both at work. -- Tis The Season...NY Giants...5-3, Oh this is heart breaking. Go Yankees......

It was "Senor" in the title that clued me in this time. -- klaatu barada nikto "I didn't know you could get coffee stains on the fabric of...
Have you considered the possiblity that your dog needs a different home? With people who can be with him during the day? Maybe a dog that big and bored and lonely isn't a good choice for your.
