Started 1 month ago by biglad
Currently selling two items on ebay and the highest bidder on both has a feedback of 6 and no activity since 2006 i have tried to contact the bidder asking if they are going to pay as no activity and had no response. These items are quite rare and people willing to pay decent money so dont mind losing the little extra might get if i cancel their bid Next highest bidder got 100+ feedback ...

Your choice, But the account could be a buying account that they don't use much. Or they just don't use Ebay. much. They could have placed the bid and not been back online since. Scammers normally just open a new account unless ones been hijacked I must admit if you emailed me and asked me if i was going to pay that would get my back up a little Your choice really personally there is ...

Hi You could enter their ID into advanced search or Goofbay and check what they have been bidding on. If they have bid on a lot of high value items I might be a bit suspicious. Scammers would tend to go on a wild spending spree and hijacked accounts would list high value items for sale. However some people just use ebay very ocassionally for a special purchase of something that they ...

<Currently selling two items on ebay and the highest bidder on both has a feedback of 6 and no activity since 2006< I'd cancel and block. Ebay is so wild now that intervention by sellers is becoming a necessity.

Seems harsh to me. Not using an account often is not a crime. I have a buying account and sometimes a year goes by when I don't buy anything. They may genuinely like your item for a Christmas gift. If their feedback was good then why block them? In fact why write to them at all. Don't think the second in line is 100% proof. Any buyer can go sour. I'd feel like giving you a neg as a ...

Her indoors account has not been used for 3 years, I think she would be upset if someone asked if she was going to pay. Just not been using eBay dosen't mean she will not pay.

I contrast threads like this with a situation I had last Tuesday. I had a winner on one of my auctions with a very low feedback seller that hadn't used their account since 2004. The second bidder on that auction has 4000+ feedback and was bidding on several other lots as well. The low feedback user won the item, paid Tuesday night and item went Wenesday and feedback left both ways yesterday. ...

If you see what i actually put in the message i was asking how they were going to pay, not if. I put the wrong wording in my first post. cheers for that soolin, just i dont sell that much on ebay and was just after a little advice thats all dont think i deserve a neg just for being polite and asking a question

I would be really put out if someone had the audacity to ask how i intended to pay if i hadn't even won the auction yet. If they had been waiting a couple of days and I hadn't paid then fair enough, but i think an email to the bidder whilst the auction still runs is just rude, and feedback would be left accordingly if i won an item where that had occurred.
