This is the first time i've played the game, but i've beat every other game in the series besides code veronica. I'm doing hard mode, and I'm wondering whether i should fight nemesis to get the Eagle parts and everything.
I'd say go for it. Ammo should not be an issue, i have plenty of ammo during the whole game, and i take him on EVERY time, even on hard mode. The things he drops is definitely worth it.
I say wait until you've completed the game a few times before attempting the Nemesis fights. The reason? Because he's quite fast and difficult if you don't know how to dodge his attacks the right way. Plus, you need to save your ammo for the regular enemies you face along the way, which is pretty important.
Let me tell you the opinion of an elite gamer: "Yeah! Why not, n00bz!! haxcorz nemmy is pwned by teh handgunz like dem esy!" In short, handgun pwns nemmy. Just be CAREFUL and DELIBERATE in shooting. When you aim the handgun, you aim. Aim, fire. When he tries to lunge and attack, press the SHOOT button again. If you do it perfectly, you'll dodge the fool. Rinse, repeat. AND, You ALWAYS have ...
If you ask me, on hard mode, I find it very difficult to have more than enough ammo for just dealing with the regular stage enemies throughout the game, let alone the Nemesis fights. So when people say they have more than enough ammo on hard mode and it's okay to attempt the Nemesis fights, I'm not actually in their homes watching how people are obtaining all this ammo while they are making ...
Im not amazing at this game so dont take my word but I face nemisis every time on hard made and afterwards I usually have like 5 bullets left in a single gun then just play as I normally would and end up with heaps more ammo. I just play normally and kill most zombies I dont actually try to save that much ammo so if you actually try to save ammo I guess it would be really easy.
I don't seem to have much problems most of the time fighting him anymore and keeping ammo. Point being since when I play I expend only 1 bullet to get to the police station >blowing up the barrel in the alleyway< everybody else I knife/dodge on the way there. Then in the police station I knife him now in Marvin's room >get him stuck on the shelf and you can knife away< Once you have the Eagle ...
Oh I see. People are using the knife to get by zombies. However, what worries me is that many people think the knife is a weak weapon that's hard to work right, and in this game, the zombies are faster compared to the ones in RE2 (and I was struggling with the knife in RE2). I guess I need to find a way to use that knife more accurately and without taking any damage from super fast zombies.
Actually, you CAN avoid all the zombies in this game. One thing people forget is: TO DODGE ZOMBIES They shoot all the zombies in sight, blah blah blah, then complain at Nemesis' Uber Might. Let me tell you, that, if you keep killing ALL the zombies with a handgun, shotgun, Magnum, etc, you'll run outta bullets soon. Yep. A lot of them. Example: Zombie just before the dumspter you climb to get...
"I'm afraid of nemesis :'( At least when I'm running away. I'm just a coward." I'm afraid of him too. He's a big tough monster, that's why. A big tough monster that wants to END your life! :)
Don't I see you on the RE4 boards? And, yeah, NP. Nemmy's actually quite easy when you dodge the moment he tries to attack. It makes him pissed off big time. And, for more tips and tricks, check out the Incredibly NICE KNIFE GUIDE BY Vmerkin. It'll teach you the tips and tricks of knifing ALL THE ENEMIES IN THE GAME.
In the place where you get the shotgun, when you get pushed away when the door opens by the zombies, you don't even have to move, just stand still at the place you got pushed to and shoot em, they'ff fall before they reach you.
I'm afraid of nemesis :'( At least when I'm running away. I'm just a coward. (hiding in the newspaper office and him coming after me was quite a shock.) But thanks for answering all my questions hoorayy!!!

lol friendly you are obviously not a RE veteran.... don't waste your time with a knife... the other guy is right, you can run past most of the zombies in the game without even taking a single hit... resident evil is all about conserving ammo, and the easy mode gives you WAY too much even in hard mode RE 3 is loaded with ammo if you mix all the gun powder just right and make like magnum rounds or freeze rounds, tons of ammo in the previous...
