Thread: Short Circuit graphic card

If the card, or computer are still on warranty, you could try sending it for replacement. But, really, why wouldnt you shut down your pc? And why were you using a vaccum cleaner?

well, instead of geforce 6600gt 256mb, I had to put there pci ATi from year 1996 :-((( computer is running allright, and the gcard has no signs of destruction. there is no warranty for i bought it from advertisment but I tried visiting a service where they took it for some meausuring to know which part is off and which is still alive. If it were only some condensator, they might be able to repair...

If your motherboard supports PCI-E then the 7600GT which cost 150$ is your best bet. If you have AGP, then just grab a 6800XT which should be around 120-130$ and is a little better than the 6600gt. x800 can be found on newegg for good prices as well.
