We usually go to the Hayman Burn area Northwest of Deckers, but I'm worried that it might be snowed over or excessively muddy. Anyone know what that area is like right now?
Is the area near CO 7 and 72 (Southwest of Lyons, off of the peak-to-peak road) accessible easily? How far off the paved road ...

I take my Jetta up there, you're looking at a 50yd walk to set up. Short range (pistols?) will be directly to your left. ...

I drive there in my Buick Roadmaster ...

I was at the 7/72 area this past Saturday. We were there about 4 hours and were visited twice by the Boulder Sheriffs dept and a FS Ranger. Both cool guys with a no shiter message.
They are getting continual reports from a housing addition catching stray bullets/ricochets and the area is in danger of being shut down.

Just want to say "thanks" to Mark and Becky for showing us the Harris Park shooting area. Nice place for sure! We had a good time, blew up some milk jugs and then policed up our trash and left. It was a great day for shooting! We'll have to go up there again.
Looks like you're set. I was going to suggest avoiding the 7&72 as it's always terribly crowded when I have to go by there, and having seen people shooting from both sides of the road, with the road path around there, I don't like to go past there at all.
