I running Desktop 4.1.4 on a Vista machine.  I installed the database on a local network drive, and all works well.  I would like to access this database from another PC on the same network using Desktop 4.1.4 and running XP.  However, I can't get my XP to link to this database.  From Desktop on my XP, when I set the path to this existing database on my network drive, I get the error message: "..database locked by another...

Palm Desktop is not designed to work in this manor as you already know. As a suggestion keep settings the way they are now on the Vista PC but install Palm Desktop normally on the XP PC. If any errors happen what you can do ( with Palm Desktop closed ) is copy the contents of the data and paste them under   XP C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One\[hotsync username] C:\Palm\[hotsync username] C:\Program Files\Handspring\[hotsync username]   and...
