Thread: Shaq Is No Longer Dominant

Started 2 months ago by DETROITboitay
I'm sorry if this makes me sound mean, but does anyone else think Shaq looks absolutely terrible? I've never been a fan of his game because I prefer watching players with skill and finesse over players that are good mostly because of their size and power (for example, I enjoy watching Kobe more than I enjoy watching Lebron--though they're both superstars). I can ...

The Cavaliers brought in Shaq to help out LeBron James and take some pressure off the Cavs. Is he as dominant as he was in years past no, but he still can push people around and see how things turn out. I used the same thing for the Bulls , it is too early in the season to judge or panic (not that I am saying you are). I don't think he will be like he was ...

He only avearge's 12 points and 7 rebound's though. He is just sloppy and does not have it anymore. But, he sure is an upgrade over Big Z IMO. I don't know if you noticed this but Shaq has only played three games. It is going to take a little while for the team to feel out each other. Watching 3 games then calling shaq a bust is stupid....

TripleXXX23 replied 2 months ago
shaq hasn't been Dominant since the last championship he won with the Heat . thats why the heat traded him and that why the Suns traded him too. not much left in that tank.

Allowing Andrea Bargnani to drop 28 on you isn't a good sign... He's gonna need to play some defense if he wants to make an impact on the team.

Shaq averaged 18 points with Phoenix last season and made the All Star team, and he is in even better shaooe now than he was last season........When will people come to grips with the fact that it is CLEVELANDS lack of a COMMITMENT to an offensive system!!!.......Shaq is not as dominant but is still dominant just to a lesser degree.....how many more players will come...

Shaq averaged 18 points with Phoenix last season and made the All Star team, come on villain you and i both know that Al Jefferson got snubbed big time last year how many more players will come to this cleveland team and see their production decrease before the GM puts some fire under Mike BROWN, its not that there production decreases (kg pierce and ray have ...

I said from the beginning that Shaq was not going to be that relevent to the Cavaliers , but I do think he is going to get better. Right now he is still learnin the plays and getting used to the Cavaliers as their center. Shaq wasn't dominant last season or the season before if you go back and look at his record, but he can still play the game and help. After ...

I may be the only one that thinks Shaq looks good. He is playing good interior defense against he opponents. He looks in great shape. I think he's been doing well early. I suspect his numbers will get better as he get acclimated with the team and more importantly; they get acclimated to him. He has a similar start with Suns and came on strong toward the end....

Now we know why Riley took charge of the Heat from SVG.

Helzyeh66, you maybe right.  Shaq is known for coasting in the regular season and trying to turn it on in the playoffs.  Thats probably why he only won one MVP award for the season.  In any case, it will be interesting to see if he can do it at the age of 38 by that time.

If Dwight doesn't sniff shaq's level, I am cool.  I will get up in the morning Lord willing.  Shaq was once one of the best in his era.  THat day is long gone now and its Dwight who holds that distinction currently like it or not.  BTW, if he doesn't sniff shaq's level, he is still on pace to be one of the best and thats all you can ask for as an athlete.  I am hoping...

We are spending waaaaay too much time on Howard. This post is about the Diesel, no one else! The fact is that Shaq is no longer the Diesel just as Iverson is no longer "The Answer." It amazes me how quickly fans can forget how great a player was. I laugh when I hear people compare any player to MJ because in most cases, the comparisons are comical; almost as comical as comparing this Shaq to the Diesel. The younger Shaq was bigger,...

BTW...........Kareem playing on one of the greatest squads of all time must say something if at the age of 38 he was still the number one gun.  How can you knock that?  Isn't shaq considered to be on a championship contending team right now?  So his chances to florish is still there as Kareem was.  I don't know many teams where shaq would be the number one gun right now. So like I said his numbers...

I hear yah, nighthawk.... After all, we can only talk about what is there and what may be there. I just think that Shaq right now is playing better than his numbers.  But only time will tell if that remains true.

Shaq is probably the most dominate 37 year old I've seen play Man you really are stupid. Does it look like I've watched Kareem or Wilt? I've been watching Shaq since I was a kid. And he's the most dominant player I've seen play the game. I'd put him as even more dominant than Michael. Because some nights Michael could have an off shooting night. But Shaq shot nothing but high percentage shots. And he would put...

The younger Shaq was bigger, stronger, and faster by far than everyone he faced. In a lot of ways, he was like a bigger version of Howard, unpolished offensively and a pure beast. Shaq had a lot more polish offensively than Howard at this point in his career.  His footwork was great, his coordination was too, his hands were great, and he was dominant with his back to the basket.   He was a very good...
