Thread: Seriously? USA airdate for Water of Mars is Dec. 19th????????

WTF?? Do they really expect us to wait a whole month AGAIN? (*stomps feet*) I mean, what decade do we live in anyways? There is no reason why DW can't be show on the same day here in the US as it is in Britain! After all, we are 5-8 hours behind (depending on daylight savings) so it's not like it won't still be an exclusive premiere in the UK.
At the very least, they could show it a few ...
I agree with you to an extent as we have to wait months for alot shows to come from America except South Park which is aired 2 days after its US airdate.
A couple of days later but not the same day.
British people pay for it to get made so thats why we get it first.

What this country really needs right now is a Doctor. - The Master.
"except South Park which is aired 2 days after its US airdate."
Ah, HAH! See BBCA?? It's possible!
"To add insult to injury, Torchwood is shown on BBCA within a week of it airing in the UK."
That's right! And Children of Earth was about 2 weeks. It's not like BBCA doesn't know how! Rat bastards!
"You may very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment."
Torchwood is shown on BBCA within a week of it airing in the UK.
Actually, no, the first series aired a few months after it aired in the UK. For the second series we were two weeks behind, as was the case with Children of Earth.
The only thing I can think of as a reason for this not airing two weeks after it airs in the UK is scheduling. I'm no expert on how networks schedule their ...
I think it's payback for all the times the UK (and other countries) have had to wait months for something in the US to finally make it over here. We've gotten used to it, we now accept it, maybe you should too.

Jem and The Holograms... Truly Outrageous!
At the risk of sounding completely selfish; I'm glad we get it earlier and that it's not aired in the US untill a month later. Honestley I reckon we deserve it first, it's a british show and the british audience should get to see it first (and I apply this train of thought to brit movies as well); just as the american audience more often than not get first viewing of their movies and shows.
You won't go to jail for downloading one TV show even in the ridiculously unlikely event of being tracked in the first place.
If you don't want to download it, find an Internet proxy based in the UK and access BBC I-Player through it. Sorted :)
Uh, huh. The rich are SO being bled dry in this country. The poor things! It's not enough for them to keep getting richer while we get poorer. We have to feel sorry for them when they get taxed! Here's an idea, how about they just pay the taxes they are supposed to right now and not weasel out of them through loopholes? I pay MY taxes and don't have any loopholes, why can't they? That'd be enough to make us not need to...
Terobi's nailed it. It's about having the equal footing to start off with - institutionalised equality of opportunity and condition - so that one is able to move past things that otherwise restrict their abilities and be the best that they can be. It's not like the rich deserve to be rich and the poor deserve to be poor - the family one is born into is purely a matter of luck. tenonceb4, I'm sure you like to bang on a lot...
Tax the rich until they run of rich to bleed dry. Meanwhile jobs will dry up and the government will be the boss of us all. We will have a lot in common with the UK before we know it. I know you Brits believe in spreading your misery around the world, but making all this look very appealing to people who don't know any better isn't going to make your lot better and will have everyone on this earth in a world of hurt. Envy is such a...
Tax the rich until they run of rich to bleed dry. Aye, I'm sure the people who are on hundreds of thousands of dollars every year are going to be financially crippled by having to give a few thousand to keep poor people alive. We will have a lot in common with the UK before we know it. I can think of worse things to have a lot of common with. Dickensian London, for instance. I know you Brits believe in spreading your misery around the...
wow i have suddenly just developed a new found appreciation for the Australian system. Yay for free-to-air! We get 5 main channels(ABC, 7, 9, 10 and SBS)on free-to-air plus more if you have a digital receiver (ABC 2/3, Go!, SBS 2 etc.). Then we get additionals if you get foxtel or austar or something but they're not really worth it, they cost a fair bit, like your sky or virgin and are only really necessary if there are a lot of american...
I'm glad we get it earlier and that it's not aired in the US untill a month later. I reckon we deserve it first, it's a british show and the british audience should get to see it first Good grief... most Americans don't deny the fact that Doctor Who should air first in the UK. All we're asking is a little less time between the UK airing and the US airing, similar to what we got with Torchwood Children of Earth (which...
And don't forget we also drive on the correct side of the road, play cricket and know what proper bacon is! Seriously, do you think that Telstra or whomever your ADSL provider is, cares if you download a Doctor Who episode or dozen? The only reason to wait would be if you wanted to discuss the series with people at work or your mates. None of my co-workers cares about Who and my mates that do care download too.
