answer should be C we know the first term and one of the term 8th term of an AP so we can find out the AP.. hence C

confused...to hard to me first it seems to me that we can not exploit a1 as according to the condition n is between 2 and 15 so a3=a2+k a4=a2+2k a5=a2+3k and so on... a8=a2+7k but i do not know a2 and do not know k (what is k <0) and the set in form a(n)=a(n-1)+(-k) we are not given that k is>0 only that it does not equal 0 i am not sure in any of my ideas but my pick for E

IMO - B If a(n) = a(n-1) + k, then a(1), a(2),.....a(15) is an arithmetic progression. Statement (2) says a(8) = 10 a(8) is the middle term and hence the Median of this series. The number k can be positive or negative. If k is negative, then the numbers a(1), a(2) etc. will be in descending order and if it is positive, then the series will be in ascending order.
