A friend who has only known me for a few months says I have a warped self image. Apparently I keep refering to myself as fat or unfit and my focus on diet and fitness is unhealthy. She said it with genuine concern. She added that she thought I was bordering on an eating disorder. This really stunned me. She added that she had noticed big changes in me in the short time she had known me and that ...
I have a hobie pedal kayak (its like using a bike) and we are going to start using it 3 hours a day on saturday, and sunday.. 6 hours total and a moderate speed, of course with occasional breaks and what not.
We may be on the water for 6 hours, but majority of it will be pedaling, so maybe 12 hours of total pedal time, but 3 hours of moderate effort.
Would this be as effective as...
There is nothing to say that you need to do cardio to cut, so by doing lots on the weekends, as long as your diet is good and you are lifting throughout the week, then I don't see any reason why you need to do cardio mid week. Give it a try for a few weeks and see what happens, if you aren't losing fat, adjust your diet, or weight lifting or add a bit of cardio.

Hey guys,
I posted a thread a few months ago to find out if anyone else had this problem. I'm close to 38 and I have had this issue every time I try to cut, regardless of the diet.
I think that I have finally found the solution to this issue, in case anyone else faces this. Although I was taking a multivitamin, it wasn't enough. I am now taking a zinc supplement (nothing ...
Every time I went on a cut, my sex drive and mood would plummet within the first week, which caused issues between my wife and I, and inevitably, I would quit the diet. I've always supplemented with healthy fats (fish oil/flax oil/olive oil), and no matter how much I increased them, it didn't help.
Someone told me it was because I was in a calorie deficit, and that no matter what...
One last thing - I think the lesson here is to vary your food sources. Eat lots of green veggies from different sources, and don't eliminate fruits entirely. Also, vary your meat /carb sources. I was eating chicken breasts/oatmeal/egg whites and tuna all of the time because once you figure your diet out, it gets easy to eat the same thing every day. Although I still have to watch ...
I love that you have goals. That goes a long way, trust me. To make it even more agressive, you can do a competition between friends. Whomever loses X amount of lbs by date X will go to dinner as a cheat meal. Say a fancy steak house. This motivated to me to lose 25lbs. Total, I have reduced my weight from 250 to today's 212.6lbs. At 223lbs, I beat my competition goal which was to be at 230lbs. It motivates me, and I'm sure it can...

Personally... I would cut first... then do a SLOW bulk (I learned my lesson from doing this wrong the 1st time!) Either way... eating at maintenance or cutting will get you to where you want to be long term.

Sorry tobias7912, i did not get if the picture you posted is recent or you 30 pounds lighter now. If the picture is recent then i do not think you need to worry about plateau for some time. You have a lot fat to loose. (no offence). It seems to me that you do have good genes and it will be easy for you to get pretty muscular and you should have great looking body after you done.
Isn't the ultimate goal to reach a plateau of sorts? One at where the individual has acheived the desired level of fitness, % bodyfat, muscular definition, etc. and his/her caloric intake is at a level to meet nutritional and performance expectations?
I don't see any problems with drinking coffee, providing it's not a cup full of milk or with three teaspoons of sugar. My day starts with a cup of coffee with skim milk and 1tsp sugar, and I can see the top 4 abs of my six pack now. Definitely count calories. I agree with George, that is the one thing in that list that is holding you back.
