Thread: Self Park vs Valet Parking at Treasure Island

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by ajy733
Now that we have finally decided on a car rental I am wondering if we are better off using valet or self park. Initially we wil be coming from the airport in the afternoon. What are the pros and cons especially since aside from the tip niether costs anything. Thanks

Valet is free just make sure to tip $2-5 when you get your car back. You don't have to woory about where you've left the keys or where the hell you parked. What's not to like about that? Good luck & have fun.

No reason not to use valet in my opinion. From the airport take the Spring Mountain exit off of I-15 and you can easily access TI without touching the Strip.

If you don't mind a walk, I think self parking is best especially with a rental. We don't get the insurance so like to park further away from all of the other cars. I don't like to wait and want to save every dollar to lose in the slots:)

convenience. Do you want to schlep your stuff through the garage, and probably through a large portion of the casino to get to your room? or would you rather leave the car with the valet and have a much shorter schlep. I'd valet, but thats just me. Which ever you chose, enjoy your visit.

A bit related of a question but a bit of a hijack as well. Aren't the valet parking garages separated from the self-park garage. Like, you can't physically walk thru the valet section (I'm sure a super sneaky ninja could still find a way). I remember self-parking at the MGM once and we parked right against the chain link fence that separated the 2 lots. I remember all the ...

What ticks me off about valet at TI is that you can't call from your room and have your car brought up. I'm used to this type of service at Bellagio but TI won't do it. So you have to go down to the valet desk, give them your ticket, and wait for what seems like an eternity for them to bring your car. Last 2 times at TI I've dropped the significant other off at the front of ...

Lots of good points already. If a rental valet it, unless as noted you're worried about no insurance, which sounds like a bad idea to begin with... If it was your car and you were extra fussy about it then self-park like the no insurance rental guy. Either way at TI parking is pretty simple. I have rentals (and insurance) and use the valet parking. I don't recall waiting at ...

Why would anyone want to park there own car??? For exercise or to save 2 bucks..?

rufus45 replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
We do it for the exercise and to save two bucks Mr. DiceMan. Not really, however, I think it depends on one's style of travel. Many times we are there for a working vacation (we do wedding photography) and it is just easier for us to self-park because we leave the hotel a lot. Love your sense of humor. Have a fabulous week.
