Most of us are well aware of the dangers associated with second hand smoke, but I would like to rant for a moment about another second hand contaminant that is just as insidious, but less spoken of. Second hand pickle juice. Read more: http://www.kimiweb.com/blog/2009/01/...-pickle-jui ce/
Meh, it's just salty water pretty much.
The nice thing about potato chip contamination is it makes the papers you have lying around clear, so you can see through them - they become "windows to weight gain".
My wife feels the same way as you about the pickle contamination.
BTW I submitted it to Digg.
Funny, one local coffee shop that read my article has now started asking their customers if they would like a pickle or not and have begun wrapping the pickles separately. See! We can make a difference
HAHAHAHA Love it.
I HATE pickles too, I am like you. Why contaminate my sandwich? I have been known to unceremoniously pick up said pickle and hand it back to the server with a very disgusted look.
Fortunately we don't get pickles on our plate in the UK, but we do seem to
get cream automatically added to a desert in a restaurant, which I hate
along with pickles.
