I'm just finishing up Season 3 on DVD, and I'm feeling kind of alone in my attitudes toward the characters. Personally, I think how the MoG treating Wesley was disgusting. Heck, Angel can fire them all and be responsible for the death of multiple lawyers (showing no real remorse) and it takes them one episode to forgive him? But Wesley, whom they've known and cared about, makes a logical ...

Good points Bickett . Season three was another season I both loved and hated (along with season 2. Seasons 1 & 4 I loved, Season 5 never happened - I'll let it go someday). While it had moments - Darla, Angel trying to kill Wesley, intro of angsty teen Connor, Lorne joins AI - it was the season that truly began the assasination of 4 of the main characters. Gunn had a bond with Wesley, not ...

I've been so irritated by the dumping on Wes that I almost forgot the Darla arc (sad to say). I always thought Darla was overrated, but I loved the pregnancy storyline. I loved that she knew she was going to turn evil again after the baby. I thought it showed what Angel was about at its best: consequences and regret. I loved Holtz as a bad guy who really wasn't a bad guy. I wish they'd ...

Gunn had a bond with Wesley, not Angel. Him throwing his lot in with Angel, without real thought, went against everything Gunn fought against. I'm not sure if I entirely agree with this. In That Old Gang of Mine , Gunn showed that he had divided loyalties, and Wesley threatened to fire him if something like that happened again. IMO, Wes' preachiness and arrogance came back around and bit ...

Can someone please explain just what exactly is wrong with Cordelia's characterization here? She grew up and matured - what's wrong with that? I've been rewatching Angel for the first time since it orginally aired and I would agree with this. I had no problem with Cordy growing as a character and there were still flashes of the Cordy of old here and there. I wasn't thrilled about the ...

Can someone please explain just what exactly is wrong with Cordelia's characterization here? She grew up and matured - what's wrong with that? I've never had an issue with Cordelia's characterization in s3 either. I thought there were plenty of external factors (getting the visions, seeing all the world's suffering, being tortured by W&H) that led to logical internal changes in her ...

The problem that I had with the change in Cordy's character is that it just seems so much so quickly. Yes, she would change. But the drastic nature of the change over a very short period of time didn't seem all that realistic to me. Even if she had mellowed and mature, it seems likely there would be occasions of the old Cordy coming to the front, some snippiness at least. Of course, I do ...

I found snarky, bitchy Cordy much more interesting than St. Cordy. I think this is the problem that I had with St. Cordy. Natural? Maybe. Fun? No.

Nothing is wrong with her maturing, but she didn't mature, she became all that was good and pure. And Really really dull. Old Cordy would have been all "Angel I hate you for lying to me. Don't ever talk to me again...

There's a St.Cordy coming up? Uh oh. Like everything, it's a matter of opinion. I don't think that she turns into St. Cordy; I believe that the changes in her character are a natural outgrowth of her situation, and part of a series of changes that started back in s1, in "To Shanshu in LA." You may end up agreeing that she becomes St. Cordy, but then again, maybe you won't. I'll be curious to read...

I don't really care for That Old Gang of Mine for two reasons: it doesn't make sense to me that Lorne would specifically shield the bar from demon but NOT human violence, and it officially makes canon the idea that there are good demons, which wrecks havok with the morality of Buffy's indescriminate demon killings the last few years. Oh, and one more thing: that price Lorne would have to pay to change the violence shield never...

Is it bad that when I watched "Tomorrow," I discussed it with my friend who had also recently seen it - she floves Angel and kept talking about the Cordy showdown and the whole Connor thing and the dropping Angel into the ocean, and I literally could only make thoughts about the awesomeness that is Wesley/Lilah? Hee. I love them so much.

Considering that Angel tried to murder Wesley in retaliation I am thinking he should start with showing remorse before Wesley does. I actually don't think Angel needs to show remorse for that. Angel is the one who lost a kid here. As for withholding information, Angel has quite a lead in this category too, As you said, two wrongs don't make a right. But Angel's behavior during his whole Beige Period was treated as being wrong,...

But even then, there's a multitude of others he should have asked for help before Holtz and Justine. Ranked in order of best-to-worst: The Scoobies, Giles, random mystical forces for good, Kate, Faith, the elderly demons from That Vision Thing, Key Guy from TVT, Gunn's old gang, the cops, a photograph of Chuck Norris, social services, random bystanders, local kindergartners, the rats that live in the hotel, a slice of cherry pie,...

I thought the Fred/Gunn scenes were harmless. They need to establish that relationship first, and then develop it. Their relationship just sorta happened.

As for withholding information, Angel has quite a lead in this category too, with hiding the whole Darla affair and trying to lose his soul on purpose and changing the memories of his "firends" for the sake of his Jack the Ripper wannabe son. Sure, two wrongs don't make it right but if are...

Anyway, it's improved a lot and I hope this is a good season. *waits for remarks, hopefully good ones* What are the highlights of S3? Season Three is a very good season. (But I don't really think that AtS has "bad" seasons the way that BtVS does. But of the five, it's one of the better ones. :) ) It does get a little slow in the middle, but when the focus is on Angel/Darla/Connor and how screwed up they are,...
