Thread: Seamonkey 1.1.1.8 + 2.0

Started 1 month ago by Bimmer Guy
Hi, when I received the notice to download SM 2.0 I did right away. Couple days later I checked "about Seamonkey" and it read 1.1.1.8 So I downloaded ver 2 again. Checked next day and it still read 1.1.1.8 Both downloads appeared to go perfect. I'm really confused on this on. Thanks

Do I have 2 versions installed? I never removed 1.1.18 before installing 2.0. I looked where you said.. Program Files|mozilla.org|Seamonkey..found the seamonkey icon which launched ver 2. I also looked in program fliles/seamonkey..found the seamonkey icon which launched ver 2. With that said, guess there is no need to create shortcuts and rename. I'll check every so often if ver 2 is ...

I went through this, on another thread. I had my 1.1.8 with a shortcut called SeaMonkey. When I installed SM2.0, I did not see another shortcut, and when I clicked on it, I was opening SM2.0, but had found no way to open 1.1.8, although still installed. It is possible that this was done intentionally, although it seems that you have the opposite problem. I right click|rename the SeaMonkey ...

I had v.1.1.8, and, then installed 2.0. As you have found out, both versions can coexist. Now, what would happen if 1.1.8 was uninstalled, first? I don't know if 2.0 would have gone into the same folder used by 1.1.8, or, I would have not mattered. The fear of losing mail is unjustified, and this goes back to the day that Profiles came out. The Profile is not removed when the Program is ...
