Thread: Scheduler doesn't catch conflicting recordings

Started 1 month ago by bradvido
Here my setup: I am only recording digital shows off the air. I have my program guide set up accordingly with SnapStream. However, BTV is letting me schedule shows to record at the same time from the same input , and not showing anything in the "conflicting recordings" section. It simply starts to record whichever show starts first, and records a black screen for the other show. I ...

What tuner(s) do you have installed? I don't believe I've ever seen anything happening like that in the last couple years. Is this a new installation? Or a re-install?

It's a new installation. Everything functions great, except for this problem. I can't remember the exact tuner model, but it's an ATI. I checked before I bought it to make sure BTV supported it. Here's the recording calendar for today: And here's the conflicting recordings (none)

It looks like BTV thinks you have two tuners using the same guide info. My guess is you have something set wrong, that is a pretty basic function and I have never heard of anyone having problems with that. Put up a screen shot of your Audio and Video Inputs page.

You have three tuners defined. Dsable S-video and Composite. That will fix it.

Ka-ching. That did the trick. Thanks guys.... Why does it think that it can record shows off my program guide on those inputs? Also, now will it kick me out of live-tv if a recording is about to start on a different channel?

As long as it gives the recorded show priority, I'm happy... I'll have to test it out to make sure

I used to use my S-video/Composite input in addition to my normal tuner input also. This was to enable me to switch to the S-Video or composite Channel (which was hooked up to a video cam at the front door). I think his error (if this is what he is trying to do) is that he assigned an already in use full channel listing to the Aux-inputs. If he is using the aux inputs to record ONLY stuff coming in on those inputs, then he really doesn't...
