I just want to thank forum member quickcat for the excellent write up and photos he posted about half shaft removal. I did my wheel bearing u-joints and washer on drivers side today and the write up and photos were a great help. I'm reposting the write up and his photos "First lift the car and support. Well, you didn't need to take the outer stub shaft out of the knuckle. You could have taken the 10mm strap bolts out of the outer u-joint of the half shaft. Then you needn't take off as much stuff as you did. You removed a lot of suspension components when all you needed was the two closest to it so you could maneuver it out. The Spring can stay hooked up....etc. ...

He replaced the the Teflon washer also.

And its much easier to get at the bolts for the wheel bearing hub with the shaft out of the way.
