Keep all of your receipts, and don't open ANYTHING until you are ready to use it or wear it. I keep an accordian style organizer and label each pocket for each month. I keep all receipts organized by the month. I tend to buy things at times, bring them home, rip tags off of them and then later realize I have yet to use it or wear it and do not have the tags that go with it. So when I want to ...

Good tip. I always stash my receipts around the house. When it's time to return something I can't find the receipt. I need to start organizing them.

I do that too!! I thought I was the only one. It is one of my micro-famous shopping tips. I tell all my friends its OK to impulse shop as long as you keep the tags on. It Really works because I return half the things I buy. Not because I am crazy, but because I have my kids with my most of the time and I am not thinking straight until I go home. I agree with the advice that keeping receipts can save money. If you keep track on all your expenses, this can help you know if you are beyond your means. Having idea with all your purchases will help avoid overspending. Self-discipline is another important factor to save money.
